1. What AppealPath Is

AppealPath is an educational and informational application that helps users understand Medicare benefits, prior authorization processes, appeal rights, and discharge rights. AppealPath is not a law firm, a medical practice, or a licensed insurance advisor.

2. Not Legal or Medical Advice

Nothing in AppealPath — including the Learn tab, guided tools, or Patient Advocate — constitutes legal advice, medical advice, or professional financial advice. Information provided is educational and based on publicly available federal regulations, CMS guidance, and OIG findings.

For advice specific to your legal situation, consult a licensed attorney. For advice specific to your medical situation, consult a licensed healthcare provider. For free Medicare guidance, contact your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) at shiphelp.org or 1-877-839-2675.

3. Patient Advocate — Automated Guidance

The Patient Advocate feature generates responses using automated systems. Responses are not provided by a human reviewer, licensed attorney, licensed medical professional, or insurance professional. Patient Advocate is designed to provide informational guidance based on Medicare regulations and federal findings — not to replace professional advice.

4. No Guarantee of Outcomes

AppealPath does not guarantee any outcome in any Medicare appeal, grievance, complaint, or coverage determination. Appeal outcomes depend on individual clinical circumstances, plan-specific policies, and other factors outside AppealPath's knowledge or control.

5. Purchases

AppealPath offers one-time in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. All purchases are final except as required by applicable law or App Store/Play Store policies. To restore previously purchased features on a new device, use the Restore Purchases function in the More tab.

6. Privacy

AppealPath stores conversation history and purchase status locally on your device. Conversation messages sent to Patient Advocate are transmitted to OpenAI's API for processing in accordance with OpenAI's privacy policy and terms of service. AppealPath does not collect, store, or sell personal health information. AppealPath does not require account creation or collect personally identifiable information.

7. Accuracy and Updates

Medicare regulations, appeal deadlines, and plan rules change. AppealPath makes reasonable efforts to keep content current but does not guarantee that all information reflects the most recent regulatory changes. Always verify time-sensitive deadlines and rules with your plan, CMS, or a SHIP counselor.

8. Limitation of Liability

AppealPath is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AppealPath and its developers are not liable for any damages arising from use of or reliance on the application or its content.
